What a long journey to get to Paracatu Brazil.  We left at 6:30am and arrived at our destination 32 hours later.  Today was all about getting our bearings and doing a little food shopping.  Our hotel has a kitchenette so shopping for food was in order.  We are getting used to using google translate and the picture feature is really helpful for reading packages and menus. Everyone is so helpful and patient with us because we have to translate everything. Thorne, my husband is a little more savvy than we are at this point and can understand more than we can.  Tomorrow Nick and I are going to do some exploring and adjust to our new surroundings a bit.  We have some volunteer opportunities coming soon and we will be excited to share those with you when those plans are solidified.
